The Lismore Young Songwriters Competition officially opened on 2 February 2017. This provides the opportunity for our young talent across the Northern Rivers to showcase their creative endeavours at an event being held on 6 April 2017 @ The Deck at SCU.

There are four genres of song categories: Pop, Folk, Urban/Electronic, and Punk/Metal Rock/Indie.

Entrants are allowed one entry per genre and the winners of each genre have a chance to perform their winning piece at Crankfest as a paid gig.

We are hoping to duplicate the workshops that were held for the first time last year, assisting the finalists in their understanding and exploring stage technique and performance, stage management and sound checks.

The competition is open to all young songwriters in the Northern Rivers region, aged from 12-25yrs. Go to Facebook  https://www.facebook.com/LismoreYoungSongwritersCompetition for more information, pictures of past years, and entry requirements.

Participants need to submit their entry in MP3 format and include their lyrics attached as a Word document, an artist photo and bio then email to [email protected]
