Lismore City Council is calling on people with mobility issues to book their spot in the Accessible Seating Area for the Lismore Lantern Parade finale on Saturday, 24 June.
The Lantern Parade finale at Oakes Oval is the culmination of the annual parade, and includes pyrotechnics, lanterns, entertainment and fireworks. There are also a variety of food vans on site called the Winter Warmers, who sell hot meals to raise money for local charities.
Council’s Accessible Seating Area at Oakes Oval includes front row seating for the finale and blankets and heaters to keep people warm. An accessible toilet is close by and access to the area is via the Dawson Street entrance, where a drop-off area will be clearly marked.
Interested people are required to purchase a ‘general admission’ ticket for the finale and book a spot in the Accessible Seating Area with Council. These people are invited to bring a carer/support person, free of charge, who will be seated next to them.
Other family or friends need to hold a paid general admission ticket and will be seated in the grandstand behind the Accessible Seating Area.
Ticket s can be booked online at www.lanternparade.com.
