Reconnect

Reconnect is a free targeted early intervention program for young people.

Our program assists young people (12 to 18 years) who may be at risk of becoming homeless due to the breakdown of family relationships.

We see the young person’s issues in a broader perspective, taking into account the impact of family attachments as well as ruptures.

Creating positive change for young people

Reconnect provides counselling, mediation and practical support for young people and their families. We also work on stabilising the young person’s living situation and strengthening relationships within the family, as well as establishing wider connections in the community.

We can support young people to:

  • work out stable living arrangements
  • work things out with their family
  • address any other relationship concerns
  • stay in school even when it gets tough.

We can support families to:

  • work things out with the young person
  • find out the best way to talk things through
  • learn to live together when things are hard
  • learn to live apart but stay connected
