Different on the Outside, Same on the Inside

We’d love to come to your school to deliver our free disability inclusion programs as part of your curriculum. We have created student learning experiences with heart that have a lasting impact on young people.

Our school inclusion programs, run by people with lived experience of disability, help to break down misconceptions and social barriers, and encourage awareness and inclusion for people with disability.  The program is linked to the primary school curriculum areas of Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) K–10 syllabus.

Different on the Outside, Same on the Inside is facilitated in Central West schools (Dubbo, Narromine and surrounds) by Social Futures local area coordinator (LAC) Prue McCarthy for the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

As a person living with cerebral palsy, Prue engages students with fun activities and speaks to her own experiences of difference and the challenges faced by living with a disability.

Different on the Outside, Same on the Inside is delivered in two one-hour sessions to primary school years five and six (Stage 3) students.

If your school is interested in participating in these programs, contact Social Futures on 1800 522 679.
