Summary

'Together we're strong' - an original song by students who took part in The Indie Project at Elanora State High School.

Over the past eight weeks, Social Futures has been delivering The Indie Project to students at Elanora State High School. The Indie Project is a creative and inclusive music-based program designed to build confidence, independence, and peer connections.

At its core, The Indie Project celebrates individual strengths and interests. Musical ability isn’t a requirement; instead, it’s a space for students to express themselves, connect with others, and grow in a fully inclusive and accessible environment.

Throughout the program, students at Elanora SHS proudly wrote and recorded an original song ‘Together we’re strong’. The process of brainstorming lyrics, collaborating with peers, and bringing a musical vision to life offered students the chance to explore their creative sides while developing valuable leadership and teamwork skills.

Throughout the program, students evolved in inspiring ways. Many who once hesitated to speak up found themselves stepping into leadership roles. They showcased exceptional creativity, forged meaningful friendships, and bolstered their self-confidence and independence.

A huge thank you to all the students at Elanora State High School who took part in The Indie Project!

The Indie Project is funded by the Australian Government Department of Social Services
