Expect a diverse range of art that sparks conversation and offers insight into the world through the eyes of artists with disability. POV: art | disability puts lived experience at the heart of this exhibition.

The exhibition opens on Wednesday evening 3 December, 5-7pm, with free tickets for opening night available via the registration link below.
Open to the public Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 December, 10am – 2pm daily at Millthorpe School of Creative Arts, 48 Victoria Street. Accessible entrance located at rear of building.

Any artist who identifies as having lived experience of disability, neurodivergence, chronic illness, mental health, or identifies as d/Deaf.
From Central West NSW or regional NSW
All artists must complete an online application form or via a hardcopy application form – this is a requirement of entry into this exhibition. Applications open Wednesday 17th September and close Sunday 2nd November 2025.

Art groups/collectives can apply to exhibit as a group – but each individual artist requires a separate application form.
Your artwork/s can already be in your collection and displayed previously – or newly create. It’s up to you! As long as they are originals and are not explicit (pornography/graphic violence) or offensive.
Individual artists can submit one to three artworks. Social Futures will have final decision how many artworks will be displayed per artist or group.
The maximum size for hanging works (e.g. paintings, illustrations, photography etc) is 1.2m x 0.9m including frame. Free standing works (e.g. ceramics/sculptures) may be submitted at discretion of the Social Futures and must fit within a 1 x 1m sq floor space.
Each artist has an option to display an Artist Statement with their artwork (it may be edited for clarity by Social Futures).
This information is for sharing alongside your artworks at the exhibition. It will be shared with the public.
An artist’s statement is a short description where an artist explains their work, inspiration, and creative process.
Information you could include (but do not have to):
What themes or messages do you explore in your artwork/s?
What creative process and/or techniques do you use?
How does your lived experience of disability, neurodivergence, chronic illness, mental health, or identity as d/Deaf, influence your art?
What does diversity and inclusion mean to you and your art?
In the application please include:
Title, medium, size/dimensions, and display requirements (e.g., height, mounting)
Any accessibility features that can be included (e.g., tactile elements, audio description)
Instructions for handling or display order.
We will only use your artwork for promotional purposes—like signage, digital galleries, or social media—with your permission. You retain full ownership. Please confirm in writing if you grant permission for such use (via application form).
Artists can provide contacts, flyers, brochures, business cards, and links to websites and social media to advertise their works and businesses to be displayed onsite at exhibition or included in their artist statements.
Artists can display information about sales of artworks. All sales are to be private – Social Futures cannot participate in handling of money or sales negotiations. Social Futures does not require commission of sales of works during or after POV: art | disability.
We welcome artist’s participation in the setup and hangings of their works. We can arrange a time to meet you at the gallery.
