Muswellbrook Head to Health Centre has undergone a rebrand and is now known as the Muswellbrook Medicare Mental Health Centre.
While the name has changed, the services provided have not. Upper Hunter residents can continue to benefit from free mental health care at Muswellbrook Medicare Mental Health Centre.
Provided by Social Futures, the Muswellbrook Medicare Mental Health Centre offers a safe and welcoming space, where locals can walk-in to access free and confidential mental health information and support without needing a referral, Medicare card or appointment.
Social Futures General Manager Mental Health and Wellbeing, Simone Silberberg confirms that existing services will continue uninterrupted.
“While the name has changed, our commitment to providing free, accessible, evidence-based mental health support remains the same,” said Ms Silberberg.
“For people in our community who might be struggling with their mental health or experiencing psychological distress, we will continue to offer the same trusted services that we have been providing since we first opened in April last year.
“It’s important that people can access the right level of care at the right time, and Muswellbrook Medicare Mental Health Centre helps simplify finding the right support for your needs.”
Staffed by qualified mental health professionals and peer workers with lived experience of mental ill-health, the centre provides immediate support to people in distress, including their families and carers.
The centre can also connect people with other support services, such as housing and employment assistance, to support them in the future.
If you know someone who may benefit, we accept referrals from carers, families, individuals, GPs, mental health services, and community services.
Located at 160 Bridge Street, Muswellbrook, the centre is open extended hours. For hours of operation or locations in Scone and Singleton visit https://socialfutures.org.au/service/medicarementalhealthcentre/
Locals who are not able to visit the centre in person can call the national helpline on 1800 595 212 to speak to an experienced professional to receive advice or a referral to a service that meets their needs.
