The Bill for the new Aged Care Act takes a rights-based approach to build a strengthened aged care system in which funded aged care services must take all reasonable and proportionate steps to implement the Statement of Rights – placing cultural safety front and centre in the assessment and delivery of aged care services.
Social Futures, Your Side and the CHSP Sector Support and Development Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Working Group are hosting a two-part CHSP leadership forum in November 2024 and February 2025. The forum aims to support leaders to consider how their service will respond to the Statement of Rights, build cultural safety in their services and connect with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and Elders.
