Connecting Home – Women Experiencing Domestic & Family Violence

Homelessness support for women experiencing domestic and family violence.

Social Futures supports women experiencing domestic and family violence who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, including sleeping rough or in a car, staying with friends, living in overcrowded or unsafe homes, or having a tenancy at risk. We work with women aged 16 years and over, with or without children, in the Northern Rivers, NSW.

We provide two Specialist Homelessness Services programs to ensure culturally appropriate and targeted support:

  • Aboriginal Women Experiencing Domestic and Family Violence
  • Women Experiencing Domestic and Family Violence

Our focus is on helping you feel safer and supported, both now and in the future. We work with you to understand your situation, talk through your options, and plan next steps.

This usually starts with identifying immediate safety and practical needs, such as:

  • Safe accommodation
  • Financial support
  • Practical resources to support your independence

You’ll be connected with practical supports to help keep you and your family safe, including:

  • Counselling
  • Police assistance
  • Court advocacy
  • Victim’s financial support
  • Social support
  • Family law advice
  • Legal aid
