Alcohol and Other Drugs Support Service

You can walk-in, phone or see us online via telehealth. We will fill out the intake form with you, and let you know about our full range of services – and of course we welcome your questions. After this first assessment, we start planning your care and look at whether we need to help you access other specialist services to support your recovery. We understand the needs of people living in regional and remote communities.   

We take a big picture response – looking at the full range of your treatment and support needs, this includes your mental health, social and emotional wellbeing as well as your physical health. We also know that early intervention works. We will also help you to look at what is connected to or triggering your substance use – your environment. Again, we understand the impacts harmful drug and alcohol use can have in life.  

You will be treated with respect, dignity and courtesy. Your information is confidential.  

We can also talk about safer practices if you are not ready, or able yet, to quit entirely.  We get that old saying … if first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again. We’ll be right beside you as you try.  

Our team will support you to look at how your drug and alcohol use is impacting on your personal goals and values. We will work with you to become your best, that means cheering  your wins … and helping you get back up when you stumble. Everyone stumbles.  

We will consider the needs of your families, friends and carers. We can talk about the supports they might need.  

And we understand that parents with young children, and pregnant people, are usually time-poor and facing new life stresses. That’s our area of expertise, along with working with young people. We will be with you on this journey. 

We are here for everyone in Singleton, Cessnock, Kurri Kurri and Muswellbrook, and offer tailored support to young people, parents with young children and pregnant people.  

We deliver a service accessible to everyone seeking help – and we know that everyone is different. We work with people of different ages and from different cultures.

We are in contact with a range of teams in the field of alcohol and other drug use, including the Local Health District (LHD) drug and alcohol team, the LHD Aboriginal Health Unit as well as primary care, child and family health, opioid agonist treatment providers and family support and survivor services.
