In the lead-up to the first anniversary of the Northern Rivers floods, Social Futures continues to call for low-cost housing for the region.
CEO Tony Davies has told Seven News governments have the ability to deliver low-cost housing on scale in northern NSW.
The National Emergency Management Agency found 1,337 residential properties in the Northern Rivers were badly damaged during the floods of February and March this year, with almost 5,000 homes suffering minor to moderate – that’s around some 6,300 homes.
