We value our volunteers

There are lots of ways in which you can choose to volunteer at Social Futures and you can expect to learn a lot from us by supporting the important work that we do.  Not only will you learn new skills but you will make new friends and we will strive to ensure that your experience volunteering with us is a great one.

Many of our volunteers come to us through student placements. If you would like to apply for a volunteer position or a student placement position, fill out the form below with your details and we will be in touch.

Frequently asked questions:

  • Do I need a ‘Working With Children’ check?
    Where a volunteer is working directly with or has access to children, a Working with Children Check will be required.
  • How long to I need to commit for?
    The length and type of commitment expected from volunteers and student placements variesand can be negotiated to suit. Longer placements provide better opportunities for learning and with some programs (e.g. Clubhouse) we ask for a six month commitment due to
  • What types of volunteer positions are available?
    Volunteers can be involved in a range of our work and activities from administration to program delivery across our wide range of participant groups. We also welcome volunteers in our ICT, Finance, community development and engagement activities including the Lismore Young Songwriters Competition. Please indicate your skills and interests on the application form.
  • Can I volunteer as part of my Centrelink agreement?
    Yes, Social Futures is approved for customers meeting their Centrelink obligations.
