Connecting Home – Aboriginal Homelessness Service

Aboriginal Homelessness Service

Supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, men, families and young people 16 and over, who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness in Northern NSW.

This includes sleeping rough or in a car, staying with friends, living in overcrowded or unsafe homes, or with a tenancy at risk. We work with you to understand your situation and what you need right now.

We can:

  • help explore safe housing options, including crisis accommodation when needed,
  • look at the challenges affecting your housing,
  • connect you with services that can assist your next steps.

Next steps

You’ll work with a Case Manager who will help you navigate the housing system and access practical help, including:

  • contacting services such as Link2Home and the Homeless Hotline,
  • completing housing applications,
  • attending real estate inspections,
  • accessing health, wellbeing, and other relevant services.

We value lived experience and aim to ensure you feel heard and understood. Our team is culturally and linguistically diverse, and we provide culturally appropriate support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Language and cultural support can also be provided throughout the housing process.
