Strong Minds uses a play therapy approach to:
The program also upskills educators in identifying and supporting children’s trauma.
Originally designed in response to the 2022 floods, during the first round of this program over 600 children, 192 educators and 50 family members were supported through this initiative in the Northern Rivers region. A robust evaluation demonstrated significant improvements in every domain measured for the children, families and educators involved.
The program has expanded to the Gold Coast for children affected by trauma. We work directly with families, educators and children to help children recover, reduce the impacts of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), build resilience and thrive.
