FACS is undertaking a reform of Targeted Earlier Intervention (TEI) programs and people are invited to participate in preliminary planning sessions being held in a number of locations across Northern NSW.

Please see invitation below from NSW Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) and RSVP by email directly to FACS [email protected] by COB Wednesday 15 February 2017.

The vision of TEI Program Reform is that:

  • families, children and young people’s needs are met earlier to prevent the escalation of need;
  • families are able to access support earlier in the lives of their children and young people, and are empowered to live independent meaningful lives;
  • risk factors that lead to child abuse and neglect and domestic family violence are addressed earlier; and
  • Aboriginal children, young people and families have access to effective and culturally safe support and services.

The purpose of these sessions is to assess the needs, consider how we can better align our efforts and priorities for TEI activities in our local communities. This will help to ensure that in the future, effective TEI services are delivered where they are most needed.
