The Stolen Generation Reparation Scheme is open until 2020 and the Community Legal Centre continues to assist people to access this scheme.  They are holding an information session in South Tweed on Thursday 23 August.

There are currently several options for Aboriginal people to access compensation in relation to their removal, including the Redress Scheme for Institutional Sexual Abuse, private law firms running class actions and the Victims Support Scheme.

The Legal Centre assists Aboriginal people to access these schemes and assists those people who may have been unsuccessful with their initial applications.

Legal advice and assistance is free and the centre encourages Service Providers to assist clients to join them on 23 August at Mingjunbal Museum for morning tea to discuss how they can help.

  • Who can get it?
  • What can you get?
  • How to apply?
  • What to do if you’re knocked back?
