Dementia Australia has released a new survey looking at why individual and community inclusion may be so challenging for someone living with dementia.

As part of this, Dementia Australia has also released updated dementia prevalence data which were commissioned from NATSEM. This gives an updated overall prevalence statistics at a national and State and Territory level, as well as for every Commonwealth Electoral Division in the country.

Briefly, these updated figures indicate there are now more than 436,000 people living with dementia in Australia, which is projected to increase to an estimated 590,000 people by 2028 and almost 1.1 million by 2058.
