The Google.org Impact Challenge searches for and supports the next generation of Australians whose innovative ideas for change are making an impact locally and globally. This year, the Google.org Impact Challenge will award $5.5M to nonprofit innovators and social entrepreneurs using technology to tackle our biggest social challenges. Applications close 6 July 2018.

If you’re an Australian organisation using technology to create change in the community, submit your application soon.

Google Australia and New Zealand launched the Google Impact Challenge with $5.5 million in grant funding up for grabs.

This is the third Google Impact Challenge in Australia and previous supported initiatives include Fred Hollows’ low-cost mobile camera to detect and prevent diabetes-related blindness, Infoxchange’s Ask Izzy app, and the Great Barrier Reef Foundation’s development of autonomous underwater vehicles to help protect the reef.

Ten finalists will be announced in October, and then Australians will be invited to vote for their favourite idea, which will take out the $1 million People’s Choice prize.
