If emotions are controlling you or your teen, this FREE group is for you! It’s on Tuesdays 5:30 – 7:30pm at Ocean Shores Community Centre.
*Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a therapy designed to help people to learn ways of managing complex, multiple problem behaviours and emotions.
Teens who experience overwhelming, intense, negative emotions are more likely to rely on unhealthy strategies like self-injury or substance abuse. If you are the parent of a teen who lashes out or has troubling behaviours, you may be unsure of how to respond in a compassionate, constructive way.
This group will give you and your teen healthy strategies to diffuse or moderate negative emotions, communicate effectively to get through the tough times, and help your teen thrive.
