FREE Dementia Care Education – Engaging in Meaningful Activities at Home

24 February 2016 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm

Free

Event Navigation

Each day there are many things that provide us with purpose and pleasure.

For the primary carer, the ability to keep someone living with dementia involved in activities they previously enjoyed may become more challenging. However by focusing on what the person is still able to do, rather than the skills they have lost, you can both enjoy a range of stimulating activities and outings together.

This interactive workshop “Meaningful Activities at home” will provide an opportunity for brainstorming and sharing activity suggestions and ideas. It will cover an understanding of dementia as well as effective communication skills and a broad range of activity ideas. This will incorporate the principles of Montessori programming for dementia.

The target group for this course is: Family, neighbours and friends caring for a person with dementia. Sorry – Not for Workers or volunteer.
