Cultural Competence Program – helping organisations benefit from cultural diversity and inclusion

    CPPE-learning: three hour course
    Participation cost to access the e-learning through Social Futures is $35

    In this course participants will learn that cultural diversity and inclusion is good for workplace well-being as well as making business sense. The course includes a great selection of multimedia learning content including 75 short films, animations and interactive activities, including real people telling real stories. Participants will gain practical skills (including verbal and non-verbal communication) and cultural specific knowledge for use at work and in everyday life. Course topics include:

    • Diversity Works – the business case for investing in diversity
    • Cultural Differences and Similarities
    • Practical Cultural Competence
    • Unconscious Bias
    • Cross Cultural Communication
    • Cultural Adaptation
    • Australia by the Numbers

    Social Futures has licensed a number of copies of the Cultural Competence e-learning Program. To sign up, email [email protected] or telephone 0439 137 207

    Upon confirmation of your registration and payment, you will be provided a link to the e-.earning program together with password, which you can change once you log-in to the course. There is no obligation to complete the course in one sitting. Do it when you have the time and pick up where you last left. Although not mandatory, it is recommended that you do the modules chronologically. 

    The course has been developed by SBS, Multicultural NSW, and International Education Services to address the needs of multicultural Australia. For additional reading / learning the course also points you towards The Cultural Atlas, a great online resource about a range of cultures in Australia including: Business Culture; Etiquette, Do’s and Do Not’s; Greetings and Communication; Religion; Core Concepts; and Demographic Statistics.

    Registration, Payment and Cancellation Policy:

    Registration is required to secure your place in Social Futures’ workshops. For fee-paying workshops, you may pay by credit card or by Electronic Funds Transfer upon check out. Your registration details will be confirmed upon receipt of your payment.

    As we are a not for profit organisation we are unable to provide refunds, but are if you are unable to attend, you may transfer your place to another person who meets the entry criteria. Please let us know of any changes to the participants who will attend.

    Workshops may occasionally be cancelled due to insufficient numbers. If this is necessary, we will notify you as soon as possible and a full refund will be given.
