Professional training in Effective Approaches to Hoarding Behaviours will be held across the region in upcoming months, with sessions being held in Casino 1 June, Ballina 29 June, Robina 24 August and Coffs Harbour 19 November.

The training is aimed at a range of professions including but not limited to: housing and homelessness support workers, mental health workers, home care services, social workers, disability support workers, real estate managers, cleaning services, council health and safety officers, fire safety services, child protection workers, and at times concerned family and friends have attended.

The course explores topics including trauma informed approaches and considerations, statistics and characteristics, different types of hoarding, OH&S issues, at-risk tenancies, children safety concerns, strategies and examples for case coordination and practical strategies for service users and therapeutic tools.
