Transport Development Project

Transport is one of the many challenges faced by communities in regional and remote areas around Australia. Having access to a good transport system can lead to significant economic, social and environmental benefits. Social Futures’s Transport Development Project is a regional initiative funded by Transport for NSW, that is focused on reducing transport disadvantage and improving access to affordable transport options for residents of the Northern Rivers. The Transport Development Project Officer works with local transport providers, interest groups and Local Government to develop regionally appropriate solutions.

Northern Rivers Housing Forum

About the Northern Rivers Housing Forum

The Northern Rivers Housing Forum has been established to highlight housing issues and needs, identify challenges, and determine innovative and sustainable approaches to address these issues across the region. This regional forum also allows for ongoing discussion and dissemination of relevant information amongst key stakeholders, provides opportunity for partnerships and collaboration as well as research and policy development. The forum has representation from across the Northern Rivers region encompassing the interests of business, government, non-government and the broader community Membership is open to any entity or individual who supports the purpose of the Forum.  A core group (The Executive) meets every six weeks to drive the work of the Forum.  Forum events are held annually and updates provided regularly, which provide an opportunity for people to network with others who are involved in housing and homelessness, as well as learn more about and inform what is happening to improve the housing system in the region. The Social Futures has agreed to act as the contact point for the Northern Rivers Housing Forum. If you would like to join the Northern Rivers Housing Forum distribution list to receive important updates and emails about Northern Rivers housing issues please contact us.
