Lismore City Council has joined with Real Artworks to present Waste to Art – a series of free community workshops where participants can create exciting artworks from reused and recycled materials. From puppetry and sculpture to street art and painting, the workshops offer people a chance to use their imagination and explore their creativity.
“Instead of sending waste to landfill, we want people to join Real Artworks and instead discover their inner artist and create something beautiful,” Lismore City Council Business Development Coordinator Danielle Hanigan said.
“These workshops are free and fun, and a great way to meet new people and learn new skills. You don’t have to have any previous experience to get involved and we encourage people who have never explored their artistic side to come and enjoy art making.”
The free workshops throughout September, October and November will culminate in a Community Open Day to showcase the artworks. This will also include a recycled market, tours of the Lismore Recycling & Recovery Centre and other activities on Sunday, 3 December from 9am until midday.
A list of workshops is as follows. For bookings phone Sunita at Real Artworks on 0428 076 703 or email [email protected].
