Connect, share and participate in the wisdom and practice of healthy families, strong values and vibrant community culture at The Kinship Festival 2018! The event will be held on Saturday 19 May 10am- 3pm in Knox Park Murwillumbah.
This annual Families Week gathering is designed and directed by members of the Indigenous community in collaboration with service providers to benefit all families with a sense of connection and belonging.
Service Providers are invited to create an activity or space that will engage children/families/young people and encourage meaningful participation. See the Service Provider Registration.
Local Aboriginal and Islander artists, craftspeople and business owners are invited to hold a free market stall at the event to promote the talent and creativity of the community. Complete the Market Stallholder Registration if you would like to have a free stall at this years’ festival.
Due to the growth and increased participation in the festival – the Kinship Committee are seeking support from interested organizations and businesses – please see Support Request if you would like to contribute.
Volunteers are also needed on the day and in the lead up to prepare sands and ochres for the large scale art instillation that is created on the day – please contact organisers if you would like to be a Kinship Festival Volunteer!
Service Providers and community members are invited to join the Kinship Festival Committee which meets fortnightly on Wednesdays 12pm at Murwillumbah Community Centre – the next meeting will be held on Wednesday 14 March.
