Social Futures GIT program is running two separate groups for adolescent girls and their parents From Harm to Calm: Emotion Regulation + Social Skills, in Mullumbimby and Ocean Shores.

The first group offers a support group for teenage girls, using DBT skills  for girls who have intense emotions and poor emotional regulation resulting in problem behaviours such as self-harm or drug and alcohol abuse. It’s on Fridays 3:30-5:30pm, 17-22 November in Mullumbimby.

The second group teaches DBT skills to parents of teenagers who have intense emotions to enable them to create supportive environments and better manage their adolescents’ emotions and behaviours. It’s on Thursdays 6:30-8:30pm, 16-21 November in Ocean Shores.

It is a requirement of attendance that the girls are engaged with the appropriate mental health professional with informed consent to communicate with that professional and that they know and approve of the group.
